This ILASLA merit award-winning project renovated a 17-acre corporate campus in Vernon Hills, IL, transforming a vehicle-dominated site into a pedestrian-friendly, landscape-focused environment. A new accessible pathway between buildings reduces vehicular crossings from five to two, improving safety and connectivity. Outdoor plazas at each building support events, dining, and casual gathering with flexible seating, fire pits, and lush plantings. A central island with a flagpole anchors the campus, while rerouted driveways and speed tables calm traffic. The landscape features over 3,800 new plantings and enhanced lighting for safety and ambiance, revitalizing the site and opening views once obscured by overgrown foundation plantings.
